SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA

Squamous cell carcinomas are cancers that develop in areas where there is a certain type of body lining tissue. Among the most common sites for this type of cancer are:

  • Skin
  • Head and neck region
  • Lungs
  • Esophagus
  • Anal canal
  • Cervix

This type of cancer can also be called by the acronym for the term squamous cell carcinomas (SCC), and it is a subtype of non-melanoma skin cancer.
