FISH (FLUORESCENT IN SITU HYBRIDIZATION)

FISH (Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization) is a test that allows the identification of certain genes. The method is based on the use of fluorescent substances that bind to the genes of interest.

The fluorescent in situ hybridization test is not indicated for all types of tumors. In certain cases of breast cancer, the method can be used to assess HER-2 expression.
