CA 19-9

CA 19-9 is a substance measured in the blood that can be used as a marker for the presence and activity of certain types of tumors in adults and children.

Tumors that may have elevated levels of the CA 19-9 protein include:

  • Colon cancer.
  • Rectal cancer.
  • Pancreatic cancer.

It is usually measured in blood samples for diagnostic purposes.
