ADENOMEGALY

Lymphadenopathy, also known as adenomegaly, is the enlargement of one or more lymph nodes, a manifestation that can occur in a wide variety of conditions.

Which tumors can cause adenomegaly?

Adenomegaly can be caused by infectious diseases and some types of cancer, becoming more noticeable as they increase in size.

Among the tumors that most frequently can present with adenomegaly are:

  • Leukemia.
  • Lymphomas.
  • Head and neck cancer.

As it is a symptom present in many diseases, superficial lymph nodes are usually only noticed when palpated, and in some cases, it is difficult to detect certain cancer cells.
