ADENOCARCINOMA

Adenocarcinoma is the most common type of cancer in adults, originating in the glands present in the lining tissues of the body. This malignant tumor is found in the body’s lining tissues.

Some examples of locations for adenocarcinomas include the gastrointestinal tract, the head and neck region, the respiratory tract, the prostate, and the breast.

What are the symptoms of adenocarcinoma?

The symptoms vary according to its subtypes and may include:

  • Sudden weight loss
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Constipation
  • Shortness of breath
  • Chest pains

How is adenocarcinoma treated?

Treatment and prognosis vary depending on the affected organ and the stage of cancer, considering the tumor’s origin, the affected organ, the stage of the disease, and its types such as breast adenocarcinoma.

Treatments may involve surgery, radiotherapy, targeted therapy, or chemotherapy, remembering that each case is specific.
